About Winter Games
The premier esports organizations in the DMV have created “DMV’s Triple Crown,” a year-round slate of three online charity events, all benefitting Children’s National Hospital and the Extra Life Foundation. The Triple Crown is comprised of the DMV’s Winter Games, the DMV’s Spring Summit and the DMV’s Summer Bash.
The DMV’s Winter Games is an online celebration of esports and will be the culmination of Game Gym’s District Esports League and Step Up tournament series. The Winter Games will feature educational and entertainment panels followed by a variety of tournaments each day.
The inaugural DMV’s End of the Summer Bash 2020 raised more than $11,000.00 for the Extra Life Foundation. Our goal is exceed this amount for Children’s National while bringing awareness to the esports opportunities here in the DMV.

Extra Life and Children’s Miracle Network
Extra Life unites thousands of gamers around the world to play games in support of their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Since its inception in 2008, Extra Life has raised over $70 million USD for sick and injured kids.
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® raise funds and awareness for 170 member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year to kids across the U.S. and Canada. Donations stay local to fund critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care.

Minecraft Build Competition
Minecraft is one of the most creative and iconic games on the market. Tune in as youngsters battle it out in our Minecraft Build Competition. Each competitor will have 30 min and then judges will rank builds on a scale from 1-10. Winner walks away with a brand new HyperX headset!
» rules
1) To be a participate in the competition, you must sign up for the contest.
2) Contestants must be 18 or younger to participate in the competition.
3) No building outside of your own given building area (Any breaking of this rule will result in immediate disqualification).
4) All contestants must play on Minecraft: Java Edition, Version 1.16.4.
5) All contestants must begin building only when the tournament officials start the timer and must stop building when the tournament officials call the end of building.
6) All Redstone or other mechanisms must work at the time of judging
7) Good conduct, behavior, and fair competition is expected from all contestants.
8) In the event of a tie, the tied contestants must take a Minecraft based quiz. The contestant with the higher score wins.
9) Tournament organizers will have final discretion on any decisions made, and any discrepancy found should be brought forward to the tournament organizers.
