About Summer Bash

Building on the success of the Spring Summit 2021, the Winter Games 2020 and the Summer Bash 2020, Game Gym is pleased to announce The DMV’s Summer Bash 2021, the next jewel in our “Triple Crown,” a year-round slate of three online charity events, all benefiting Children’s National Hospital. The Triple Crown is comprised of the Spring Summit, the Summer Bash, and the Winter Games.

We’ve added more partners to support the event, more great education and entertainment content, more thrilling competitions, and more prizes! The DMV’s Summer Bash is an online celebration of esports for kids, parents, and gamers of all ages, and will include the Summer Bash Smash competition and a Minecraft Adventure Competition. The Summer Bash will feature educational and entertainment panels each afternoon and competitions throughout the weekend in a variety of different esports.

The three 2020-2021 Triple Crown Events so far have raised more than $22,000.00 for the Children’s National Extra Life Foundation. Our goal is to continue to support Children’s National, while bringing awareness to the esports opportunities here in the DMV. And, from this point forward, all money raised for Children’s National will be used to fund research using video games to assist in rehabilitation programs for children.

Children’s National is one of the top 10 pediatric hospitals in the nation. All money raised through the DMV’s Summer Bash 2021 will fund research by Dr. Kevin Cleary that involves using video games to help kids with Cerebral Palsy improve their motor skills.

Summer Bash Smash is open to residents of DC, MD, and VA and will take place August 21-22 in conjunction with Game Gym’s Summer Bash.

Summer Bash Smash is a hybrid, online/offline smash tournament with the early rounds taking place online and streamed live via the Game Gym’s channel. Top-8 will be played live at Game Gym with a best-of-five matchup for each top-8 match and a best-of-five Grand Final.

It’s our goal to showcase the incredible talent in the DC-metro region and support our local scene. Hope you are ready to rep your state and crown a DMV Summer Bash Smash Champion!
