Panel: Balancing Life and Video Games

Our panel members interact with games in a variety of different ways. They all have day jobs, but still find time for their passions. We want to show our members that gaming can be a part of life in a million different ways.

Clayton Filipowicz

Clayton is a passionate video game streamer and an avid communicator. His career in social media began when he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps as a combat correspondent. He graduated the top of his class, earning him a spot on the Marine Corps' social media team. He went on to pioneer several television shows for the U.S. military as well as a personal YouTube channel for gaming and military knowledge. As sergeant of Marines, he helped lead the Marine Corps' flagship social media platforms and video production section at the Pentagon. Upon leaving active duty, Clayton did freelance video editing for companies such as the Travel Channel and Liberty Mutual Life Insurance. After that, he went on to accept a teaching position at the Defense Information School at Fort Meade, Maryland, specializing in broadcast journalism. Today, he currently serves as a social media manager for the U.S. Air Force and streams video games on YouTube Gaming.

Jenn Dubois

Jenn Dubois is a government contractor for the Department of Navy in Washington, DC. She has been an avid gamer for a majority of her life, testing every single console that she could get her hands on. She has been a competitor in the Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) scene participating in numerous events, including being the only female invited to a Pro-Am event in Washington, DC. To date, she continues to help support the community in a variety of ways by supporting CSGO tournaments; Fragadelphia and DC LAN, and is helping expand the brand of Rufus Connects, a new esports recruiting company. Besides gaming, she is also the Co-President of her local Alumni Chapter for Appalachian State University. She also loves traveling, skydiving, and participating in unique experiences around the world.

Jon Byrum

Jon Byrum is account specialist at Rollins and a part of the dynamic duo of hosts on The LvLUp Podcast, a podcast covering gaming and esports news all over the globe. With a degree in Sports Marketing from George Mason University, a background in the entertainment industry, and having lived in the “gaming mecca,” Seoul, South Korea, Jon has a unique view on the impact video games have on a person’s daily life.
